  3. How and when do I apply?
  4. Beginning on August 1st, you can apply online at universityofcalifornia.edu.

Application filing period: November 1 through November 30.

  5. What are Personal Insight Questions (PIQs)?
  6. The UC admission process requires personal insight questions as part of the application.

You choose 4 of 8 prompts to write (see page 40).

This is your chance to tell UC Admissions who you are and what’s important to you. Think of it as your opportunity to introduce yourself to the people reading your application.

This is NOT an essay. This is an interview on paper.

Be open, be honest, be real. What you say gives readers the context to better understand the rest of the information you’ve provided in your application. Further information on the PIQs can be found at universityofcalifornia.edu.
